Anime Recommendation: ReLIFE

Okairi Readers!
Sometimes life just smack you in the face really hard.
It may be an opportunity, good or bad.
There may be regrets, probably.
However it happens for a reason.
Face forward.
And smack that Life back, twice hard.

Speaking of life, I mentioned in a post about upcoming anime to watch.
Apparently, ReLIFE is up.

All 13 episodes.

Whuuuut??
Y'know what that means.
Binge watching time.

That was exactly what I did.
And I did not regret it at all.
The art style was totally cute.
I really love it when the character turns chibi-like.
Arata's (MC) face is the most priceless. I really love him.
I mean, look at these:

Oh, that's right, I forgot the synopsis:

Kaizaki Arata is a 27-year-old, out-of-work man who has failed at each and every job interview he has had after quitting his last company where he only lasted three months. His life changes after he meets Yoake Ryou of the ReLife Research Institute, who offers him a drug that can change his appearance to that of a 17-years-old again. Taking the drug, he becomes a subject in a one-year experiment in which he begins his life as a high school student again. 

The storyline is interesting.
And each character is so adorable I don't know which to pick as my favourite.
Just kidding, since my bias is black haired, obviously it's Arata.
Although the anime only consists of 13 episodes, and if you binge watch it like I did,
no worries!
Because currently I am reading the manga (137 episodes and still ongoing).

Not sure if there is a second season, but I hope there is.
Because this, I'd say, is my favourite romance comedy anime in 2016.
MC is hot, both 28 and 17 years old.
MC's love interest, Hishiro, is hella cute and awkwardly funny.
She can't even smile or she'll look like:

Supporting characters are equally hilarious.
Yoake is the cutest stalker. I don't mind if he's my ReLIFE support.

So readers, it's time to binge watch this anime.
Because Life is in the way, you just need to stop, drop, roll to your laptop/phone,
and start watching.

Shoujo Recommendation: Skip Beat!

Welcome back Readers!
I'm so excited about this post.
Why?
Heck, I'm talking about my most favourite of all favourites of mangas in my whole life!
I came across Skip Beat on 2009?

I first saw the anime on TV and while watching it halfway through,
I was alone in my living room so I switch off my TV when it haven't ended yet.
(Cuz I'm a scaredy cat, don't judge.)
And I was curious what happened so I search it up online.
And since then I've been hooked and introduced to this beautiful world of Anime.

Skip Beat is currently the only manga I collect.
It's still ongoing.
Sadly they discontinued the anime.
And came up with a Taiwan Drama instead a few years back.
*cough* Don't watch it. *cough*
I was so disappointed.

Nonetheless, I've been following this series ever since.
And I'm not backing out at all.
So enough with the chit chat.
I can go on forever.
Here's a synopsis, since I never post about it before.

Kyouko Mogami lived solely for her childhood friend Shoutaro "Shou" Fuwa. She follows Shou to Tokyo so that he may realize his dream of becoming a famous singer. When his dream is realized, Kyouko overhears the truth behind his decision to bringing her with him: he was using her as a maid. Shocked and enraged, Kyouko swears to take revenge by outdoing him in show business. With a new look and a new attitude, she joins LME, the agency where Ren Tsuruga (Shou's rival and the #1 actor of LME) works, in the hopes of achieving her goal of destroying Shou's pride. Along the way, she discovers her true self, makes new friends (and enemies), and finds herself at the heart of some interesting situations that will change her life, and the lives of all others involved, forever.

Okay so basically, for you who have not heard of Skip Beat before;
What have you been doing all your life?
Just kidding.
But seriously, I love the art, the storyline, the characters in Skip Beat.
It's mainly about showbiz, and the romance is between the two- no, three characters.

Kyoko Mogami is one awesome girl.
Again, not those oh-I-only-care-about-love kinda girl.
In fact she's the opposite, and we get to see how she develop (back) her feelings of love;
through her love for acting and the hardship she has to go through which also involves her mother.

And dayummmmm the main male lead?
I'll just put it out here that he's my one and only anime crush ♥.
(Sure, I have others but no one can beat him, really.)
Dark-haired, Dark past, Good looks, Actor.
Just look at this man.

And if Dark hair wasn't enough, he actually is a blondie as well.
Yesssssssss, no complaints.
I like a man who can do both.

I really love each character development.
It involves a much deeper shit (language please), compared to some mangas.
It doesn't just focus on the main leads but also others that are equally important.

Currently it's on chapter 237.
Only one chapter is released each month and although some might start complaining;
... I guess they just aren't real fans? (Just kidding.)
It's precisely why they complain, because we want to know more and we're too excited.
On another hand, I'm fine with the story progression.
But they need to update the book faster because I wan't to buy it asap.

So desperate for Ren Tsuruga...

Shoujo Recommendation: Hibi Chouchou

Welcome back Readers!
I take this moment to rant a little.

That I am thankful for these "unpleasant" people in my life.

Because they teach me to become someone I don't want to be.

Get that off my chest, and now, we shall start.
I was thinking of posting my views on anime that I had posted about before.
But I'll do that tomorrow.

Now it's another shoujo manga, the same author as "Tsubaki chou Lonely Planet".
I happen to stumble upon Hibi Chouchou when it was still ongoing.
I really love the art.
The characters are beautiful.

Upon entering high school, the very quiet but extremely cute Suiren becomes the immediate center of attention among the boys…but one particular boy does not look her way.The story of a quiet girl and a quiet boy. A short, refreshing love story.

And one thing about this manga is that it doesn't go all out love.
By that, I mean you know how some shoujo characters just think about love and not studying?
I'm sure there's a time we went "Gosh, they don't care about school huh?"
Hibi Chouchou is very subtle. (Sorry for my lack of vocabulary)
It starts subtle, and at the same time it focuses on each character development.
Not just the main leads.

I love how the main guy, Kawasumi, thinks about his Karate.
And the main girl, Suiren, thinks about how she's gonna change to become "stronger",
in a sense that she can interact with people and not be timid and quiet.
Hands down, I think Suiren and Kawasumi is the cutest couple yet.
Just look at them!

Well, I did say I was a dark-hair bias.
And there's another character that fits it, and I'm not complaining.
Heh.

Ba-thump Ba-thump ♥

Welp, Hibi Chouchou is actually completed.
So readers, you can enjoy reading this manga (if you haven't)
Without the fear of waiting for another release chapter.

Random Recommendation: An Important Talk Between You and Me

It's the weekend, and let me tell you...
I am freakin' drained out.
I was dragged out of the house to go to 2 different places.
One was a sea aquarium that was closing down, and it. was. HELL.

There were so many people. in such an enclosed place.
Let me tell you, I'm slight claustrophobic.
So throughout the time being in there all I can think of was:
        "Oh please don't let there be a stampede..."
And at the same time I was thinking,
        "Hey I wonder what'll happen if I shout FIRE!!"

And the other place was equally the same.
But rather than an enclosed space (thank god), it's open.
But that doesn't mean it's any better.
All those street food, shops and a constant never-ending stream of people,
pushing and groping (just kidding).
whatever it is, bottomline, I absolutely loathe crowded place.

That aside, why is this post a "Random Recommendation"?
It's either I'm too tired to explain or it's just a random manga I found.
Wakaranai.

But anyways, this manga is hella funny.
It's tagged as Shoujo as well.
There's just 3 chapters so far.

The high school romantic comedy manga centers on Aizawa, a high school girl who is in love with her classmate Azuma, but she doesn't talk much in school. In the train station, Aizawa says something completely unexpected to him.

Two words:
Random, Hilarious, Unexpected.
Yes, I can count.
The first chapter got me burst out laughing when I reached the end.
But I guess we all can relate to the female lead.

I'll just share with you basically how the first chapter went.
Imagine finally you're able to gather all your courage and confessed to the guy you like.
And having a random conversation with him.

Having that "ba-thump ba-thump ♥" moment right there.
So you wanna try and be friends first with him instead.
And then...

Hold up, is that what I think I see?
Is that-....??
Yeap. It is.

But of course, I don't want to spoil it for you.
So Readers, you have to check it out and see how she reacted afterwards!
And if you think chapter 1 wasn't funny enough,
you have yet to continue chapter 2 and 3.

I have witness his manly lower half...

Shoujo Recommendation: Tsubaki-chou Lonely Planet

Welcome back Readers!
I really need to chill with these shoujo genre.

But I can't help it. I really am attracted to beautiful art style.
It's not my fault most of them I came across are shoujos.
And one of them happens to be Tsubaki-chou Lonely Planet.

Ohno Fumi is a poor 2nd year high school student. Because of her father's debts, she's kicked out of her own home and has to rely on her own connections to survive. Thus begins her life as a live-in housekeeper for a reclusive writer. 

If you're a shoujo fan like me, you might realize that the art style is very similar to this:

Hirunaka no Ryuusei

15-year-old country girl, Suzume Yosano, has to move to Tokyo to live with her uncle due to her father's transfer. She bumps into a mysterious man who ends up taking her to her uncle's place after she gets lost. Turns out, Suzume will be seeing him a lot more often once she starts school because... he's her homeroom teacher!?

That's because they're of the same author/artist, Yamamori Mika.
If you haven't read either one of it, I highly suggest you do.
Besides the beautiful art, the storyline is superb.
I have to be honest, my bias will always be the male character with black/dark hair.
I just love dark haired characters. So sexy ♥.
So if you're like me, you'll adore both mangas.

Anyways, Hirunaka no Ryuusei 's plot twist is really something for me.
I didn't expect it at all.
However this manga is completed so I won't be discussing too much about it.

Back to Tsubaki-chou Lonely Planet, I love both the main characters.
It has a realistic plot so it's not cringe-worthy.
The comedy, mix with the romance is just right.
It's actually quite a new manga that was released just last year,
and it's ongoing with a new chapter just out today.

As much as I want to discuss about the new chapter, I don't want this post to be too lengthy.
So Readers, do check both mangas out.
Yamamori sensei's work is one of my favourites;
And there's actually another manga by sensei that I really love.
But I'll recommend that in another post. So...

Shoujo Recommendation: Watashi ga Motete Dousunda

Welcome back Readers!
I was caught up with something called life.
So this post is up a little later than usual.
But heck, it's not gonna stop me from finding interesting manga for you ♥
Down to business,...

Firstly, if you're here it means:
1) You're an otaku
2) Not a die hard otaku but still lovin' that anime and manga
3) You just stumble to this blog and went "What the f--
But either ways, option 1 and 2 is highly possible.
And why did I bring this up?

Because, my dear readers, this manga will resonate with us and our inner otaku-ness
Well, more if you're a Fujoshi (I'm not that crazy about BL, but hey, if it's shoujo, why not?)
Watashi ga Motete Dousunda is also known as Boys, please kiss Him instead of me.

Serinuma Kae is a chubby second-year high schooler and an avid fujoshi who secretly ships her classmates, Igarashi-kun and Nanashima-kun. The death of her favorite anime character causes her to become stressed--and loses weight rapidly. Now that Serinuma has became an attractive girl to her classmates, her snarky kouhai Shinomiya-kun, and her senpai Mutsumi, how is she going to deal with them...with her constant BL-filled, fujoshi mind?! 

I got dibs on the senpai at the bottom left.

It's a hilarious Reverse Harem manga.
And apparently (I just found this out while I googled for the image above)
It will be getting an anime adaptation!
Sadly, it comes out during Fall season, not this Summer.

Well, that aside.
The only thing that's bothering me is the first chapter.
How could she turned from:

Just from getting depressed that her anime crush died

But hey, who am I to question the logic of anime?
It's still entertaining and since it involves an otaku main character,
you can see loads of crossovers like these:

How dare she dream about my Levi... but that costume tho.

So my fellow otakus, fujoshis, shoujo lovers and those who-just-wants-to-read-manga;

Shoujo Recommendation: Mizutama Honey Boy

It's Friday!

Woop woop!! 

So why not spend that Friday of yours relaxing while reading a manga?

Sounds like a good idea eh?

Good news for you, I've found another Shoujo manga and you have to check it out!

There probably aren't a lot of shoujo manga that includes a girly main guy.

And a not-so-girly main girl.

The only manga I can think about with that similar setting is 'Otomen'.

However, I'm not a big fan of Otomen.

Sure, it's different than most shoujo manga.

The only thing I didn't like about it was that the main guy has 2 sides.

He has a very manly side (just for show), but he actually loves cute stuff (and he hides it away).

but WHY? Why do that?

I don't know about you but I'm more of the type that says,

"Be who you want to be, and not what others want you to be. 

F*ck their opinions, YOU matter the most"

And that is why, readers, I would strongly recommend Mizutama Honey Boy (Polkadot Honey Boy)

Mei Sengoku is the captain of the kendo club at her school, and is known as a very strong person, physically and mentally. Her friend, Shirou Fuji, is a boy who acts like a girl, but says that he loves her. Mei is focused only on becoming stronger, but she is beginning to question what is most important after all.

Like Otomen, the heroine is more manly while the hero isn't.

However, unlike Otomen, the hero embrace who he is.

And I absolutely LOVE ♥ that about Shirou.
He doesn't hide the fact that he's personality is girly, in fact, he's popular in school.
And dayum does he makes the stuff that even makes my kokoro flutter.
Here's my favourite quote from him:

As for Mei, she's strong, she's reliable.
She has no problem with how Shirou is.
But of course, everyone needs their own Prince (even if the prince acts like a princess)

Let me tell you, these duo are so freakin' hilarious.
With the addition of a third confused character, you'll have abs from laughing.
I mean c'mon look at this.

The man in striped coat is Fuji's Dad.

So do check this romance comedy manga!
Like the other recommendations, it's ongoing as well.
I haven't reached the latest chapter while I'm typing this,
because it's just too good so I just had to tell you about it.
So if there's a new chapter that's released, I'll share my views on it.

Shoujo Recommendation: Nijiiro Days

Welcome back Readers!
Back again with another Shoujo Recommendation post.

Since most Shoujo genre is based on the POV of the female lead,
we probably got bored along the way with how she's always getting saved by the hero.
Admit it.

Never fear, the boys of Nijiiro Days are here!
Nijiiro Days, also referred to as Rainbow Days, tells the story of 4 High School boys.
Their school life, their love life, and their bromanc-- I mean friendship.
They're a silly bunch due to their different personalities.
It's hard for you not to root for each one of them with their 'girl partners'.

Let's start with a lil introduction (sort by hair colour):
Natsuki Hashiba: Main character, cutie pie
   ♥ Anna Kobayakawa
Tomoya Matsunaga: Popular playboy, potential masochist, creepy (described by Mari)
   ♥ Mari Tsutsui
Tsuyoshi Naoe: Otaku, the only guy in the group with a (cosplayer) girlfriend
   ♥ Yukiko Asai
Keichii Katakura: Sadist, always with a whip
   ♥ Nozomi Matsunaga (yes, Tomoya's sister)

Nijiiro Days currently has an anime adaptation. (ending soon)
However I'm disappointed because the anime is only about 15 minutes.
So it's cut out a lot and isn't as funny as the manga.
Hence I recommend reading the manga because it's currently ongoing and things are getting intense.
Because Natsuki has a rival, Mocchi, who's going to confess to Anna.

Same goes for other ongoing manga, I'll be posting about my views on it once a new chapter is out.
Non-shoujo readers, do bear with me.

Attack On Titan: Chapter 82

Welcome back readers!
Yes, it's time for some Shingeki no Kyojin, because why not?
I gotta admit, I stopped reading snk because I got caught up with other manga.
But hell yeah, that also means I got to read like, 10 chapters in one go.

And DAYUM. I don't know if I regretted it or not.
But as Levi heichou says,
"The only thing we're allowed to do is to believe we won't regret the choice we made."
(My motto in life ♥)

So the latest chapter is (still) about the retake of Wall Maria and Shiganshina District.
And let me tell you, the battle against Humanity and the three titans is

INTENSE AF

The more chapter I read, the more deaths I saw, and it gives me the goosebumps.
But behind every deaths, there's a purpose and my kokoro couldn't handle it.

So I'm currently at Chapter 82.
But for those who doesn't like spoilers, and haven't read till where I'm at,
you might want to stop, drop and roll.
Roll away, maybe read some of my other posts that isn't SNK related. Idk.

So back to topic, after reading the latest chapter and seeing some comments about it,
let me just say this:
I doubt Hajime Isayama would be bringing back both the wonderful, brilliant blondes back to life.
You read that right, BLONDES.
Highly likely that both Erwin and Armin didn't survive the attack.
But they both died a courageous death (?)
And it's really touching. Don't know if that's a suitable word to describe deaths in SNK.

Sure, some might say that Levi still holds the 'Titan Juice', and he might bring either back to life.
But really, I don't want to keep my hopes up. Levi has his hands full (legit, he's alone).
Hajima Isayama has his reasons on why he cut off two important characters out forever.
I just want to know who will remain standing, and why he choose them.
But please, don't take Levi away from me.

That aside, Hanji is alive.
However, Sasha and Jean is badly wounded.
And on the titan's side, Bertholdt and Reiner might be dead.
Leaving Levi facing the Beast titan himself.
He almost killed him though, but stupid beast was trying to escape.

And with that I am left with one question:

Who will be the one to get the syringe up their butt? 

Because if it's Levi, he'll be the strongest titan ever. No?

RIP Armin.

And f*ck you Bertholdt.
